Dear Mr Rutter,
“This is the day” is wonderful, very great music.
We (a little choir named” Convocamus”) in germany, Ibbenbüren would sing it in the church, on the occasion of the silver wedding of our choir director Frank and his wife Monika. We hope she stare in surprise.
She has heard this song last year and she loves it.
Is it possible to get a signed musicpaper of “This is the day”?
It would be nice if it’s possible.
Yours sincerely
Christa
Would you kindly forward us John Rutter’s management email? In 2001 our combined Schools in Bulawayo performed several of his works and we were very blessed to receive a letter and words of encouragement from Mr Rutter. Our Choir, The Marden Singers Celebrates 50 Years next year and we would love to present a John Rutter Festival.
This is The Day is wonderful, gracious and we would be buyng the music to perform at our annivessary

Dear Dr. Rutter,
Greetings from Burlington, Ontario, Canada; our paths crossed many years ago at the RSCM Summer Course in 1985 at Addington Palace. You were one of our ‘clinicians” for a week, in which I was first exposed to your wonderful music. I have gone on to conduct much of your works, both in sacred and secular events.
We also share the friendship, with Paul Merritt, of London, Ontario, Canada, a wonderful musician.
My question is regarding “This is the Day” which am planning to programme this coming year with my 30 voice Chancel Choir. There seems to be some differences between the printed score, and the performance at the Royal Wedding, Westminster Abbey.
Was this due to logistics (timing for BBC coverage) or the performance using an earlier edition.
I look forward to hearing from you, at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Richard Hansen, ARCCO
I purchased The Royal Wedding cd here in the US and am quite pleased I did as John’s “this is the day ” is worth the entire CD.
Also Bravo to John’s “Colors Of Christmas” cd which I purchased a
week ago. A lovely artistic melodic reflection on the Reason for the Season. Congratulations John.
Dear Madam, dear Sir,
I search the web for weeks the lyrics of “This Is The Day That The Lord Hath Made”, special designed by John Rutter, for the Wedding of HRH Prince William of Walles with Catherine Middleton and I can not find anywhere.
Would you kindly please send them to me by return email.
I thank you very much in advance.
Sincerely yours,
Márcio de Sá
Márcio, This is the text:
This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.
O praise the Lord of heav’n: praise him in the height.
Praise him, all ye angels of his: praise him, all his host.
Praise him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars and light.
Let them praise the Name of the Lord.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee: to keep thee in all thy ways.
The Lord himself is thy keeper: the Lord is thy defence upon thy right hand;
so that the sun shall not burn thee by day: neither the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: yea, it is even he that shall keep thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in: from this time forth for evermore.
He shall defend thee under his wings.
Be strong, and he shall comfort thine heart, and put thou thy trust in the Lord.
Psalms 118: 24; 148: 1–3, 5a;
91: 4a, 11; 121: 5–8; 27: 16b
